CUNA: Target breach cost credit unions $30M Credit unions lost an estimated $25 million to $30 million as the result of the Target data security breach, according to a new survey by Credit Union National Association. The CUNA survey asked credit unions hit by the Target data breach to outline the costs and burdens they have seen as a result, according to the association. The survey showed that, on average, the breach cost credit unions about $5.10 per card affected. CUNA CEO Bill Cheney added that the actual costs could ultimately exceed $30 million if greater fraud losses are incurred or those that have been reported already add additional costs to reported totals.… Read More
